Soul Sunday is servin’ Juicy Fruit

Soul Sunday is proud to introduce its first ever guest blogger, my ace boon koon B-Boy. Polderstad & Amsterdam represent!

I am very honored to be given the chance to be a Soul Sunday guest writer. My first soulpower shoutout goes to Mtume’s 1983 chart topping Juicy Fruit. The combination of a beat that represents lovemaking, a sweet-ass melody and lyrics about chocolate stars, honey dew and candy rain makes Juicy Fruit indeed so juicy it makes Philly cheesesteaks look bad (and boy, do I love ‘em). To make things even better, this song was sampled for Biggie’s Juicy, which by many is credited to being one of the best hip hop tracks ever. We should all praise Wringley’s for their 3 gram chewing gum stick…
