A1 targets

The golden standard in academia is the number of A1 publications your resume boasts. While the debate about the merits, limits and dangers of the publish-or-perish culture rages on, one thing is for sure: it is here to stay. A1 stands for peer-reviewed, international journals which are listed on the Web of Science – the holy grail of academic publishing. In no particular order, here are some of the A1 journals which cater to my research interests in the humanities index and the social sciences index:

Journalism Practice, Journalism Studies and Journalism are A2 journals (i.e. international & peer-reviewed, but not listed on the WoS), unfortunately.
