Tempelhof to shut down

Berlin’s astounding Tempelhof airport, a “Teutonic bastion with Art Deco elements“, will close down in October 2008. This means no more checking in 30 minutes before your flight takes off, no more gawking at the architectural infinity of the terminal and no more hassle-free baggage handling. I hope they turn the place into a museum by day and the ultimate nightclub by night. Can you make this happen, miss Merkel?
