Cycling’s best kept secret

3 05 2008

The Grinta Challenge in the majestic Pays des Collines is a world class cyclosportive. In the 152km version, the tour is demanding (16 climbs, 2000m vertical) yet stunning, varied and amazingly undercrowded. Kudos to the course director. Professional bike support and regal food stations are on hand. Since I’m running out of superlatives, I will now try to find a way to get the lactic acid out of my system. Ride stats: saddle time: 5h20. Average speed: 28.5km/h. Calories burned: 5629 kcal. Cramps endured: 2. Sun burn: check. Good times with Bolle Gijs and old men in see-through white bibs: check.
