Didier just got signed by the Lakers for the remainder of the season. I’ve said it before and I’ll say again: with his size, physique and athleticism, Didier will be drawing NBA checks for another 5 years or so. ‘Van Kers’ and other self-proclaimed basketball experts had better recognize.
PS: nice lil’ interview with Didier on hoopsworld (via Truehoop)

I loved DJ when he was a Mav. Was sorry to see him go. He’s a beast and should only to continue to improve his skills. Especially around the likes of Kobe, Gasol and Odom.
Thanks, Coltranemiles. I first saw Didier play back in 2000, right after he was ‘discovered’ by Willy Steveniers, the Flemish version of Earl ‘the Goat’ Manigault (check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox3jOu8mY8c). Willy noticed Didier in a political asylum just outside Antwerp and asked him if he played ball. The rest is NBA history…
Seeing Didier play was the highest of high comedy at first. Here he was, a 7-footer with a war-torn past, doing drop step after drop step in a lil’ gym until the cows came home.
